Washed Out - You And I (feat. Caroline Polachek)

Washed Out have really got a good sound going on - they’re riding the chillwave wave, but with their own take on it. Nice and slow. Nice and drony; nice and dreamy. It seems that what they are going for, on the most part, is an eighties/experimental hybrid vibe that - on occasion - bridges funk, is poppy on the synths, and at times is just about danceable. But the best songs, are, like ‘You And I’, full of reverb and simple synths that woo you into submission, chill you out and keep your head nodding. All at the same time. Any band that can do that gets a chunk of my listening time. Chairlift’s Caroline Polachek makes it that little bit more dreamy and at the same time makes it sound so…Washed Out.
