Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues

I definitely didn’t miss the boat the first time round with Fleet Foxes, and whilst I enjoyed it, I wasn’t quite as enthused as everyone else. Which makes it a little strange that I am now going positively crazy in anticipation of the new album - ‘Helplessness Blues’, coming in to grace our eardrums on the 3rd of May. I didn’t fall in love with this track at first, but now I’ve got the Fleet Foxes bug, and this song is top of the playlist right now. Rhythmic, catchy, and - in true Fleet Foxes style - about as folky as you can get. It’s got so many phases that it’s almost a few songs in one - from the blitzing strumming at the beginning to the slow and moody final third - and if you’re not seriously daydreaming when Robin Pecknold starts up with ‘if I had an orchard…’ then you should probably just head to the doctor’s and get your ears checked…

Sounds A Little Like : the Fleet Foxes are back in town.
